Artist Research

 My first artist is Robin Wood, who designed this beautiful and hard hitting piece about the destruction of our landscape and what it is doing because, as he has shown, we are not just destruction our beautiful landscape, we are also removing a living creatures home.

My second artist is an advertising agency called Saatchi & Saatchi who design this for WWF, showing a great metaphor type design in the way that very soon our landscape will no longer be the lush green that to once was, soon it will be nothing but brown land with nothing to help with producing the one thing we need to live, Oxygen.

Layout and Grids Task

We were set this task to see how we could analysis a piece of work, of another designer, and talk about how they used layout and grids to create their piece. We also used it to not only compliment their work but also discuss what could have been different and what the designer is like in past work to compare it to the current one to see if there are any changes in their design style.

Mood Board Task

This task was to create a mood board to promote the university to the up coming students to show them the best aspects about the course and the university. In doing this task it would help us in the future when it came to making mood boards for our own projects and audiences.

Reference - Primary Research

The photos above show a greenfield site in the middle of a small town in Shropshire, Market Drayton,  which is being destroyed for houses to be place here. Although it is a different plan and site to the one I am focusing on, it references that its not just my local area in which these developments are happening it is, in fact, all over our countryside. (These photos were taken this time last year).

These images above are that current location to the present day. As you can see one of the three planned houses has been built and there is no sign of any of the once trees that were here. 

Information given from Councillor - Research

The current area (the field) in which the plans have been placed. As you can see if it is clearly a greenfield site and will also obstruct the views of the current home owners in the area, who have be living there for many years. There is no need to build on this greenfield site as there are a couple of brownfield sites in the area.

 This is the plans for the houses and how the new estate will look and affect the nearby villagers.

 The two images above are parts of the decision assessment, in which everything was discussed. The highlighted areas are where the decision has been looked upon because of the environmental impact that this site would have.

Finally, these last couple of images are multiple statements from the surrounding villagers to give their opinion on why this proposed site would be bad for the village and the local environment.

To begin my project, on environmental issues in local communities in the UK, I contacted a local councillor to see if I could get any information about the sites and the talks that the council were having about the areas and their environments. After sending my email I got an amazing response. As the councillor gave me two reference codes that gave me access to two plans in my local area and everything that went with them, including the planned drawings, talks about the plots and many comments from locals and professionals.
