Illustrative Branding Collaboration - Label idea 2

Karl's idea;

Like Phoebe, Karl also wanted to keep the Cuban culture in consideration and its strong music inspiration so he looked at incorporating leafs and a music element into my design, so he made a simple design of bongo drums with palm leafs in the background.

After coming up with a background design he decided to experiment further in Photoshop to create some label designs for the Bacardi bottle. The minimal approach with the design works well, with the already clean looking label, especially the embossed design.

 After coming up with some simple but well worked label designs, Karl decided to remove the label design and use his initial background design as a background for a possible advert design. In the first design, although the drums are not visible enough and could of been drawn better, in a different composition, the simple black and white palm leafs look good next to the bottle. In the second design, he also experimented with copying the layer to fill the negative space and embossed it to maybe give the image some texture.
